So, every year I make myself wait until my actual birthday to go to Sephora and get the annual birthday gift. This year, I opted of course for the Marc Jacobs birthday duo (the liner is magical, you guys!), and decided that I would treat myself to another birthday gift.
I have been crushing on the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments forever, after seeing them on Youtube years ago. I could never get the guts to purchase one, though, because the price tag is so steep! It is twenty four dollars per tinted lip treatment, and I must confess that now after trying it… it is definitely worth it.
I have pretty chapped lips typically, but I cannot stand wearing lip balms. They are usually so waxy and so heavy that I end up wiping them off. It’s just a weird kind of oily–not even hydrating, but just heavy and cake-y. I find that when I use the Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment that it isn’t heavy, and also it leaves my lips feeling hydrated and super soft, even if my lips are bare the morning after wearing it.
The smell isn’t crazy chemical-y, and there isn’t a weird, strong taste like other lip balms. It’s a fresh, tart kind of fruity smell that is hardly noticeable.
According to Sephora,
Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 blends reparative oils and waxes with real sugar, a natural humectant, for delectable and dependable moisture. Sweet and tart black currant oil, rich in plumping essential fatty acids, cushions the lips while antioxidant grapeseed polyphenols and vitamins A, C, and E provide protection from wrinkle-causing free radicals. It provides essential, year-round protection from damaging UV rays.
My lips definitely feel a little fuller, and plumper after using this for about a week. They feel silky smooth, and any creases or wrinkles seem to be fading.
I love that the balms have SPF 15, too. As you all know, I’m kind of crazy about my SPF… and so many lip products don’t have SPF! Even other lip balms!
I purchased the one in coral, because it just seems like such a unique color to me. I’m really glad that I got it too, because it pairs perfectly with my skin tone.
I’ve really been into this whole lazy/easy/breezy makeup kind of mood, so I’ve really been into using tinted balms recently.
The Fresh Sugar Lip Treatments give you the perfect kiss of color, it isn’t too thick or opaque like a lipstick, but it definitely gives you a good amount of color and tint. It isn’t super light or washed out, like some other balms.
All in all, I definitely love this product and think that it is absolutely phenomenal…so now here’s hoping that this tube will last me a long while so I don’t have to shell out more for another one…
