This summer I binge watched, and fell in love with Rachel Bloom’s Crazy Ex Girlfriend. If you have not seen it yet–stop everything and go watch the show. It’s revolutionary, funny, feminist as fuck, empowering, hilarious, and just absolutely amazing. But fair warning, if you watch this show, you will want boba.
Seriously, I cannot tell you how many times I wanted boba while simultaneously laughing my ass off at funny lines and perfectly crafted scenes.
I am excited. I am tremendously excited because a boba stop opened by ME. Thai iced tea, passion fruit teas, fruit smoothies….tapioca, aloe, popping boba…it is now more accessible than it was before. And for this, I am thankful, and excited.
(Fun-but-gross fact I washed my hair for the first time since I was sick, and did my makeup this morning for the first time since before I got sick, as well! Thanks for all the kind messages–I am doing much, much better now).
Tea bars will always be one of my favorites, and the bright, colorful drinks that come out of them will always have a special place in my heart.
I’m not a huge sweets person–I like more fruity, tart kind of desserts, so tea bars have always been right up my alley. Whenever my friends opted for a milk tea, I always opted for the fruitier options.
I’ve been trying to be a little healthier, and this is much easier for me to justify than a Starbucks drink pumped full of clear, artificial sweetener. Plus, at most places you can tell them if you want (little to) no sugar, or if you want to add fruit!
A lot of people think tapioca pearls are something that’s imperative with tea bars, and confession, I’m not a huge fan of them either! I prefer jelly or the aloe pieces, and with a lot of places you can substitute, or remove the weird little mush balls!
I’ve been trying to be more decisive when it comes to food (my friends always joke that I’m the worst at deciding where I want to eat!), and truthfully, spontaneous visits to my local tea bar have definitely been pushing me to not take ten thousand years when deciding things.
Anyways, hope you all have been doing well! I’m feeling much much better, and I’ll be back to regular blogging.
