Adulting

I had my first big work event since I started my new job, and boy was I nervous! My boss had told me beforehand that I was going to meet board members and donors, and I wanted to obviously make a great first impression and do my job at the event. 

And also of course, help organize and manage the photographer, caterer, and volunteers that I had recruited.. did I mention that these individuals were also some of my closest friends??! They’re all super talented and amazing individuals, so of course I had total faith in them!

After a shoe disaster, I opted for these SUPER comfy Tory Burch look-alike flats, my beige quasi-peplum dress, and my pale pink cardigan (that I didn’t really wear, the event space was warmer than I anticipated!). I think that it’s the perfect classic, chic and professional outfit with the perfect amount of smart and sassy.

The event went wonderfully, my friends were a HUGE help and their work was amazing. We raised more than our goal, and people were so amazingly generous! My caterer friend got TONS of exposure for his business, and so did my photographer friend!

I was so busy running around that I didn’t get pictures of the food, but it was SO yummy. My favorite was the fried risotto balls, and the chocolate molten gin and lavendar brownies. They were so amazing!

All in all, this was a great end to the week and a perfect start to my weekend! I’m so grateful for generous individuals, my wonderful friends, and my hardworking coworkers!
