I picked up this pretty Revlon lipstick (it’s supposedly supposed to be a balm stain) on a whim at CVS today. I am a huge fan of berry lipstick, and as I looked in my lipstick collection I was shocked to see that I didn’t have one…
I think that berry lips are one of those effortlessly easy lipsticks to put on that pull any outfit together. Plus they are SO pretty as an everyday nonchalant lip color for fall and winter! During the summer I almost always wear my Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Coral, I consider that my easy breezy summer lip color.
And that’s how this pretty berry lipstick is, it is easy to throw on to look polished quickly and easily!
I am absolutely obsessed with Glossier’s lipstick hybrid, but I could not justify the $18… especially for the inexpensive looking packaging! I’m still lusting after the Fresh lip colors, but for these colder months I’m not a huge fan of a glossier kind of lip, like the kind the Fresh lip color gives off.
Plus they’re damn expensive.
CVS had an ExtraCare coupon for $3 off a lip product, so paired with this lovely Revlon Balm Stain in Crush, my total was about $7. Which definitely isn’t bad at all for this lovely lipstick.
It’s buildable, so your lips can be lightly stained or the full berry lip. I find that it goes on smooth, but not melty buttery smooth. It’s pigmented, and gives your lips the perfect flush of color.
It’s definitely a little bit dry, but I find that is what keeps you from drawing over your lip lines or making mistakes. So it’s definitely not a bad thing! It starts off definitely feeling like a balm, and then is a lip stain that lasts wonderfully throughout the day. It’s the perfect berry lip, and I am so glad that I picked it up on a whim!
(PS, CVS is having a BOGO 1/2 off right now!)
