Current Beauty Favorites

Exams are over, which means that it is time to get back to my regular blogging… until final exams come up…we’ll cross that bridge when it comes.

I have gotten a few new products recently. My perfume, bronzer, and eyeliner ran out this month, so it was time to swap out some products! I haven’t done this yet, so I think the best way would be for me to just make a little listicle with descriptions?

Hello Kitty x Colourpop Highlighter in School is Fun

Dare I say that besides the makeup bag, this might be my favorite thing that I picked up from the HK x CP collab? Well, I don’t think I’m going to be that daring, and plus, um, I love everything from that collection, but this highlighter is my new favorite. I use it on top of my cream highlighter and it gives off this BEAUTIFUL light golden highlight. It’s very natural, but also buildable. I don’t know how to explain it, but the color is just gorgeous and makes me feel like I am a living version of the yellow butterfly filter on Snapchat. Colourpop calls it a “Pearlized finish soft iridescent duo chrome gold,” I call it magic. It is always sold out, but I love it so much that I’m tempted to get a back-up…

Physician’s Formula ® Bronzer in Light

Am I the only person who stalks a product and reads all the reviews obsessively before I can justify buying it? Unless it is an inexpensive drugstore product (or something I just grab on a whim..more on that later!), I read every damn review that I can find! ESPECIALLY for this product.

I know, you’re like, “Chrissey, FIFTEEN DOLLARS FOR A DRUGSTORE BRONZER?”

I know.

I know.

That’s why I couldn’t justify it until I read fifteen million reviews and Jojo told me just to get it instead of my usual ELF bronzer.

  • Hypoallergenic. Paraben Free. Gluten Free. Cruelty Free. Oil-Free. Non-comedogenic. Dermatologist Approved.
  • Ultra-luxurious bronzer, infused with Murumuru Butter, delivers a radiant Brazilian goddess glow! Moisturizing wonder features ultra-refined pearl and soft-focus pigments that smooth skin texture, brighten skin tone and deliver a gorgeous bronze finish.
  • Ultra-rich bronzer formula instantly melts into skin, sealing-in moisture to deliver instant and lasting hydration. Incredibly creamy and soft texture combines the best features of a powder and cream bronzer, to deliver a lit-from-within tropical glow unlike any other.
  • Infused with a powerful blend of Murumuru Butter, Cupuacu Butter and Tucuma Butter, from the lush and nutrient-rich Amazon. Packed with essential fatty acids and pro-vitamins that soften, condition and moisturize skin, leaving it silky soft.

Jojo literally read the back of the box, and said, “Chrissey, just buy the damn bronzer. You’re trying to use more natural makeup, after all.”

I really am though. I’m trying to be more careful about the products I buy, and also to look out more for my skin. After getting that CRAZY break-out from the NYX Wonder Stick, I have decided to be extra careful.

But anyways, this bronzer is absolutely magical. The sponge is terrible. But the bronzer is BEAUTIFUL. It truly is a butter bronzer, it blends effortlessly and easily into my skin, and does not give me an overly crazy contour/bronze. It’s very light and natural, and I absolutely love that! I don’t like heavy products.

The powder is soft, but there is absolutely no fall out or accumulation that will get your compact dirty. UGH and the compact–I love it. I use it as my everyday, usual compact. The green ombre is gorgeous.

It definitely is better than a lot of the higher end bronzers I’ve tried, and it really is an absolutely amazing product! Just wait for it to go on sale at the drugstore.

And it smells amazing. Definitely my new favorite bronzer, ever, and my new holy grail.

Neutrogena ® Skin Clearing Complexion Perfector

Okay, I must preface this particular favorite by stating what I look for in face makeup. I don’t want high or medium coverage–I want something light. I LOVE sheer coverage foundations. I want a foundation that lets my skin breathe, and it light and blendable. I don’t like super matte foundations, I like for my face to look like my natural skin, but maybe a little bit more perfect. But not by much! Something light, that won’t clog my pores or break me out, and doesn’t slip and slide on my oily skin.

This is definitely my favorite, and it accomplishes all of thise things. It is blendable, and provides sheerer/light coverage without being streaky. It makes my skin look like a slightly more polished version of MY skin–so a stray freckle will definitely shine through! It stays all day, dries matte (but not where my face looks flat or one dimensional), and is definitely a tinted moisturizer. It’s light too!

And therefore, I absolutely love it. A lot of people have given it bad reviews because it provides sheerer coverage, but I happen to love that aspect! And it isn’t a foundation, it’s a tinted moisturizer! Which I love.

So, if you’re looking for similar to what I am, give this a try. If you’re not….sorry, I don’t have anyting for you.

e.l.f. Matte Lip Color (I love Cranberry, and Berry Sorbet is my signature lip!)

I have raved endlessly about these. So I’ll make it short. They are pigmented, they are cheaper than a latte, and the color range is awesome. They go on smooth and look amazing.

L’Oréal® Paris Infallible 24HR Lacquer Intense Gel Eyeliner

I actually owned this eyeliner before, and I don’t know why I didn’t keep using it.

Okay, I’ll be honest–it’s because I got it back when I was a lot lazier about eye makeup. After practice, I now find that I am MUCH faster with a gel eyeliner than a pencil or pen, so, this eyeliner was tried once again.

And it is my favorite.

It’s pigmented, it goes on smooth, and it is one of those eyeliners you can layer (if you make mistakes) and it doesn’t feel cake-y or heavy. It is SO pigmented–it goes on jet black. It’s easy to use, and the little brush is magical. I absolutely love this eyeliner, and it makes my liner routine much faster…and makes my liner look better in general! There is definitely a difference from my makeup now and before.

NEST Citrine Rollerball

You guys, I freaking suck when it comes to reviewing perfumes. They are such a personal thing, and I’m really bad at describing them. So I’m going to paste the little description from Sephora.

The dewy softness of lotus flower and freesia are set against sparkling citrus notes and hints of precious woods.

Inspired by the works of 18th Century British artist Mrs. Mary Delany, Laura Slatkin collaborated with master perfumers to translate these works of art into luxurious fragrances that capture the essence of each of the botanicals that adorn the products’ striking packaging.

Lemon Blossom, Lotus Flower, Freesia, Dew Drop Accord, Precious Woods.
Bright. Refreshing. Sparkling.

I really love citrusy, light fragrances and this one is perfect! It is a little bit sweet, but not too much. It lasts for a long time, and personally, on me, it smells great! I love the floral decoration on the outside of the bottle, and I am so glad that I invested in a nice fragrance and picked this up!

Revlon Colorburst Balm Stain in Crush

I have not stopped wearing this since I bought it a few days ago. It is pigmented, goes on smoothly, and is the perfect berry color!

It’s buildable, long-lasting, and it survived me eating an entire box of stuffed grape leaves, so you know it’s a trooper! I’m definitely considering trying out some of their other shades, as I am so impressed with this one! I won’t go on too much, since I posted a review already.

These are my current favorite beauty products, and honestly I cannot recommend each of them enough! What are your current beauty favorites?
