Using Baby Products in Your Beauty Routine

SCENE: A busy Chicago Walgreen’s, our protagonist, CHRISSEY, blogger of THE UNABRIDGED SASS, runs around frantically. Her friend ASHLEY follows her, as Chrissey hurries around the Walgreen’s, mumbling words to herself.

Ashley: Chrissey, what are you even looking for?

Chrissey: The Pampers! Where are they?

Ashley opens her mouth to say something, as Chrissey stops an employee.

Chrissey: Excuse me, do you know where the Pampers are?

The employee scans Chrissey from head to toe, and gives her a weird look.

Ashley: Chrissey why the hell do you need Pampers for?

Chrissey: The baby wipes! For my makeup?

The employee and Ashley look at each other, and laugh.

Baby products have always, some way or another been part of my makeup routine. And I know in writing this post, I’m going to evoke a chuckle or two, or an, “Is she serious?” But the fact of the matter is this…I am.

When I first started breaking out as a preteen, I used to wash my face with baby shampoo, and any stray makeup on my face. Once I started getting older, that was swapped out for baby wipes to wash off makeup. I use the Target baby wipes in the cucumber scent religiously, by the way. They’re the only thing I use to wash off my makeup! And they work amazingly.

And as for my lotion? I don’t use lotion. I apply baby oil while I’m in the shower, and I rinse it off. My skin has never been softer or glow-ier. It’s a staple in my shower routine!

You see, the thing is, baby products are formulated to be gentle, and soft for infant use. But that doesn’t mean that adults can’t use them! Sure, you probably won’t be using baby wash or baby shampoo to wash your own hair, but it’s an amazing brush cleaner or face wash! Don’t be afraid to give it a try.

Here’s some of my favorite uses!

Do you use baby products? If so, what products do you use?

  1. Being a mom I have a lot of these items. I use the baby powder for my feet. I love using baby wipes to remove my makeup when I don’t feel like grabbing my Micellar water. Baby shampoo to wash my brushes have been the easiest and quickest way for me to wash them. Baby oil is amazing for dry skin and even for the hair.
