Five Lipsticks For All Occasions

I’m travelling to Dallas for about a week, and in preparing and packing for the trip I realized that I needed to dwindle down the size of my makeup bag.

As you all know, I use the same products everyday to do my makeup and just switch up my lipstick…so it wasn’t hard to decide what products to bring. It was just hard to choose what lipsticks to bring! I told myself that I was only going to bringย three lipsticks.

I ended up narrowing it down to five guys. Five.

I thought about the different occasions that I would need certain lipsticks for, and that’s how I choseย that I did. I figured that my bright blue or purple lipsticks wouldn’t get much use out of them, so I chose shades that could be more versatile for day or night. I chose a pretty good mix of products, and since I narrowed it down from a bunch to just these I thought they were worth sharing.

I love all of these products, and chose them all for different reasons!

From left to right- Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Coral, Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 400, Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita, Colour Pop Cosmetics x Hello Kitty Lippie Stix in Konichiwa, Revlon Balm Lip Stain in Crush.

Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment in Coral

This is my favorite tinted lip balm formula. It’s super moisturizing, and makes my lips super soft! It has a nice amount of color and pigmentation, and is one of those effortless shades that you can just swipe on and head out the door. I don’t usually wear this shade often in fall or winter because it is a more coral shade, but it’s starting to get nice out and this shade pairs wonderfully with olive colored clothing or accessories. This is a wonderful tinted lip balm, and always keeps my lips hydrated! It’s also one of the few lip products that I can easily apply without a mirror.

Giorgio Armani Lip Magnet in 400

I think that it’s a no-brainer to bring along a red lipstick. I think it is crucial when picking a red lipstick to pick one that is long-lasting, and that is exactly what this one is! It’s a beautiful liquid lipstick formula that is weightless, long-lasting, and fade-proof. This lipstick has lasted through dinners and drinks, and all sorts of obstacles. It’s a true, classic red, which is always necessary to have.

Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Lolita

This is my all-time favorite liquid lipstick formula I’ve tried thus far, and my favorite “nude” lipstick. I don’t look good in conventional nudes, so this rose shade is perfect for me! It’s like a warm plum, and the liquid lipstick version of Tom Ford’s Richard. It’s smooth, incredibly long-lasting, and weightless. It’s survived Chicago deep dish and gelato, and is one of my must-haves when it comes to lipsticks! It does not fade, and is pigmented but crease-free. It’s my favorite nude.

Colour Pop Cosmetics x Hello Kitty Lippie Stix in Konichiwa

I wanted to bring a sheer pink shade along, since I pretty much have my bases covered in the other categories. I love the formula of this lippie stix because it is nice and creamy. It is moisturizing, and not drying at all. Instead of bringing another nude lipstick, I opted for this pretty pink shade because I think that if you find the right pink lipstick it’s an easy casual shade. It creates a natural, pretty look when paired with pretty much any eye shadow look! So, bringing along a pink lipstick is a staple.

Revlon Balm Lip Stain in Crush

It’s always good to bring a nice, easy, effortless lipstick that works in almost any situation, and this is one of those lipsticks. The pretty berry shade pairs effortlessly with pretty much any occasion, and it is so easy to just swipe on! The balm-stain formula is one of my favorites, as it is not heavy on the lips but moisturizing and soothing. The fact that this is a stain makes it even more convenient because this balm stain doesn’t fade terribly. There’s a nice tinted stain to the lips, even after the “balm” has faded throughout the day. This is ideal for travelling especially, because I can apply this before getting on the plane without worrying if it’s going to fade weirdly or disappear.

So, if I had to narrow it down to five lipsticks it would be these five! I think I have all my bases covered occasion-wise, and am definitely prepared on the lipstick front! I think I might make a post about what else is in my travel makeup bag, but I haven’t decided yet! Would you guys want me to make a post?

What’s your favorite lipstick?

    1. Thank you! Lolita is a must have for me! It’s the perfect nude!

  2. I think wearing the same eye make-up and simply switching up the lipstick is a brilliant idea – especially if you’re travelling! I don’t have a favourite lipstick though… there are too many to choose from.

    1. I have trouble picking a favorite too! Which ones do you like? And I always end up doing the same eye makeup anyways… and people don’t even notice! Hahaha.

      1. I like matte and satin ones best, browns and vampy colours. LA Girl Flat Velvet Lipstick in Runway is really nice. I’ve reviewed it on my blog too. I haven’t really gotten into the liquid lipstick trend. But I would for the Kat Von D’s Lolita, that looks awesome.
