The Current Sass (Weekly Favorites), Volume 4

So since I’m posting my Q&A post tomorrow (if you guys wanna ask any questions DM, tweet, or comment them!) I decided to do my weekly favorites on Thursday this week. Will I ever post a Weekly Favorites on a Friday? Who knows! Stay tuned.

Like every week, there is a good mix of different things… but before we get into that I wanna make a small announcement! So I asked you guys what questions you wanted answered… and this happened.

And then, this.

So that being said…

Chrissey interviews her ex boyfriend. Coming to a blog post near you, next week. It’s happening.

So I bought a new bed set from IKEA last weekend and I have been completely obsessed with it. It’s a cute little set with a floral print, there’s little numbers around the organisms and it reminds me of a biology textbook. I think it’s the sweetest print and the cutest duvet set! I am a huge fan of it and it was such a phenomenal purchase.

Also, I always get SUPER hot when I sleep, so I bought the “cold” or “cooling” duvet and it one hundred percent works! What a time to be alive. I safety pinned the corners of my duvet so that the cover would stay in place but I’m always paranoid that I’m going to get stabbed in the eye when I sleep! So any reccomendations made for keeping your duvet and cover together, would be appreciated!

Bitmojis are always a favorite of mine, but they added SCRUBS. How cute are they?! Super cute. I wish Bitmoji could add two sets so I could alternate easily between normal clothes and scrubs!

This Snapchat filter is my favorite. Okay, it’s only second to the Hello Kitty Snapchat filter, but it’s pretty darn rad! I will forever wonder how to do that dreamy eye makeup. And I wish I looked that good normally with nude lipsticks!

I have been reading some lab science books and think they’re tremendously fascinating! I’m sick right now so I haven’t read out of my book in a while but I’m learning a lot about clinical lab tests.

I’ve also been taking some pretty notes too! I use Notability. Did you know that renal blood flow is 1.2 liters a minute? CRAZY.

I’ve been coloring when I’m stressed and it’s definitely helped! I use Recolor but I’m thinking about testing a few more apps to see what else it out there! It’s definitely relieving and a soothing activity to do. I haven’t tried it on my iPad yet but I think I will since the screen is bigger.

It is my goddaughter’s birthday today. Happy birthday, Ella! My best friend Ashley had her three years ago (although it seems like yesterday!). I was looking for Scientist dolls for Ella (you know… for obvious reasons lol), and the first one I found was definitely not in proper attire! HEELS? A short skirt? Hair all up in her face?

Also microscopes are damn heavy and not an accessory!

I found this one, who still doesn’t have proper lab footwear (but her shoes are cute!), but is better, so I purchased it for my goddaughter. I actually lowkey love the print on her top. I think it’s actually ridiculously cool that they have barbies now with various career paths and goals for young girls!

I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy. I know, join the club, right? Cristina is by far my favorite character and I resonate so much with her!

I have been obsessed with homemade wontons recently. I’ll eat them steamed, fried, made in a soup, or in various other ways. My mom and I follow a family recipe that uses yuca and ground pork. Do you guys want a recipe post?

I have always had resting bitch face. My friends LOVE laughing and looking at pictures of me as a little girl because even as a baby I had RBF.

This is the only picture of me smiling as a kid and my grandma has it framed and displayed in her house. It might be the only photo of me smiling ever, actually.

Alright, you guys, I’m posting the Q&A post tomorrow, but these are my weekly favorites!

What are your current favorites?

  2. I love that you are doing a Q & A- if it’s not too late I’m gonna throw one in the loop: If you could eat ONE thing the rest of your life what would it be (health aside). Also I’m obsessed that you are learning about the kidneys like that. They are tricky little guys too get straight- all the convoluted loops and what not ๐Ÿ˜‰ Are you guys learning solely anatomy or diseases too? Our conversations could get very medical laden now that you are in the field haha. If you have any questions feel free to hit me up ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. It’s never too late! I did a bio undergrad with pre-pharm requirements so I’ve already taken Anatomy and Physiology! I want my accreditation as a medical/clinical lab scientist so I’ve been looking into getting either my second bachelor’s (which wouldn’t take long because my bio degree knocked out all the prereqs, I would just have the clinical courses and rotations) or applying into a direct practicum. So I’m reviewing moreso the clinical testing/lab protocol side of medicine. So I’m reading up on what different tests look like for urine and bodily fluids and then moving on to reading about the chemical testing that’s done! I JUST posted a career update/goals that explains everything!

      2. Thank you so much! I wrote a long long blog post today all about the choice I made and how it tied all of the things I wanted to do together into one career! I think a lot of people were starting to piece things together and were kind of enjoying the mystery but I figured that it was time to tell everyone/announce it!

      4. That’s how I viewed it too! I think it’ll be fun to reread it in a year or two and see how far I’ve come and what I’ve achieved! Or even what’s changed!

  3. Grey’s Anatomy is such a good and addictive show, I usually keep up to date but once I just went straight back to the beginning and marathoned it all and I felt like I lived in Seattle Grace after that- I got so into it! haha
