A Spring Beauty Haul (From Clinique!)

I wanted to do a beauty haul after my trip to Daiso, but decided to wait until my order from Clinique came in! I contemplated waiting a little more until my MAC order came in (I only got one eyeshadow though…) but I got a little too excited today opening my Clinique packages.

By the way, if you like exclusive content and behind the scenes sneak peeks add me on Snapchat!

I have officially closed down my personal Snapchat to full-time snap on this one for all of you (to the dismay of my friends lol). I vlog, I snap makeup details and outfit details, and of course take pictures of foods! I also do unboxings and it’s an all-around good time!

I’m even thinking of doing my first ever Snapchat FAQ to answer some questions that might be a little too bold for the blog… comment, tweet or Snapchat me your questions! Nothing is off-limits!

(PS, someone who you should also follow on Snapchat is Jess! She’s better at it than I am…but I’m learning!)

Anyways, on to the beauty haul!

I was in need of a new face powder. As you all know, when it comes to conventional foundation or concealer I don’t really wear it. I wore tinted moisturizer for a long time, then the LUSH color tint stuff, and then MAC powder. I really loved the MAC powder but it was a little heavy for Dallas (and summer!) weather so I wanted something lighter. I decided to look into mineral or loose “foundations” but they all still seemed a teeny bit heavy.

And then, I found this Clinique powder. The Clinique Blended Face powder is a finely milled, light and flawless powder that is used to set makeup. However, it has a very light tint, which makes it perfect for me to wear as a face powder. Often times, what people consider to be very light is the perfect amount of coverage for me!

So, I ordered the powder, along with a blush set, and got a free gift with my purchase. I waited patiently for my package… and it arrived!

It came speedy fast! I hate it when you order something that you’re so excited about and then it takes five hundred million years to arrive.

DISCLAIMER: I paid for this with my own money, Clinique does not sponsor me and did not pay me for this post or to talk about these products. TBH, I wish Clinique sent me free products because their products are always really nice! Even if I was sponsored or compensated to write a post, I would not write about a product unless I absolutely LOVED it or work with a company unless i believed in them.

Blended Face Powder and Brush

I wear the shade transparency 3, which as I said before, isn’t completely transparent. The powder has a light pigment and provides a light coverage. I think the typical makeup wearer would use this as a setting powder or over a tinted moisturizer, but this works perfectly fine as my face powder! I put on moisturizer before I applied this, and the powder blended out easily and effortlessly. The powder is finely milled and provides a beautiful, natural and radiant finish. My pores completely disappear when I use this power and a little bit definitely goes a long way! I’m glad that I picked this powder up because it was exactly what I was looking for!

Cheek Pop™

This duo is now sold out, but $4 of each purchase went towards Breast Cancer research! My aunt Karen has had her Clinique blush for ages (she has the original packaging and even calls it William’s older sister). I needed another item to reach the $28 minimum to get my free GWP (lol… I’m just being honest guys) and she recommended that I pick up a blush! I had heard very good things about this formulation, and I now understand why!

My blush is in the shade Berry Pop and it is the perfect pink for spring! The blush is pigmented, long-lasting and goes on smoothly. It’s buttery smooth and doesn’t look powdery at all (this is one of my biggest pet peeves with powder blushes!). The color doesn’t fade or look streaky and it is truly a phenomenal product.

This set was free with my purchase and after trying to pick between the two sets, I finally decided on this one! My red lipstick broke yesterday so I was glad that I had picked this daytime set! It came with six deluxe size samples and this bag, which is absolutely perfect for summer. It’s perfect to throw in my beach bag to head to the beach or to carry in my new monogrammed tote to go out and about!

Take The Day Off™ Makeup Remover

I have tried this eye makeup remover before and it is a nice, standard eye makeup remover! This size is perfect for travel and will be super convenient to throw in a carry-on! I usually don’t opt for liquid eye makeup removers and honestly, gravitate to baby wipes to remove my makeup inexpensively but this eye makeup remover gets off every last stitch! It really gets off eye makeup out of every nook and cranny!

Pep-Start™ Eye Cream

I have not tried this eye cream yet, and actually gave it to my aunt who is a skin care junkie! The reviews on the internet are really good and I really like that this is an actual tube and not a little packet!

Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+™

This is one of those cult classic Clinique products that is absolutely iconic. I have used this moisturizer countless times and it is such a quality product. It moisturizes my face without leaving it feeling heavy or greasy! It doesnt cause clogged pores or breakouts and makes me incredibly nostalgic. It also is the perfect “base” for my makeup before I apply my powder! I will definitely be purchasing another when I run out.

High Impact™ Mascara

This is nice, standard mascara. It darkens my lashes and gives them a little length and volume. I honestly am a little bit underwhelmed with this mascara because although it definitely is not bad by any means, it was missing the wow factor. I stand by my all-time favorite, the Tarte Cosmetics Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 Mascara

Clinique Pop Matte Lip Colour + Primer

This is a nice, pigmented lipstick. It is very long-lasting and was surprisingly pigmented! I think that Clinique lip products are underhyped because the ones I’ve tried have always been nice and pigmented! Although this is a matte lipstick, it is not drying by any means and is very saturated and long-lasting. My lips still feel smooth and hydrated after application, and the color lasts a long time.

All About Shadow™ Quad

Okay, total honesty here: I thought this quad was going to be garbage. I even told Paige that I one hundred percent thought this quad was going to be poorly pigmented. But you guys, I am STUNNED. SHOOK. SHOCKED. The eyeshadow in this quad is buttery smooth and applies like a dream. The shadows are pigmented, intense, and buildable but also incredibly blendable. They look absolutely beautiful on the lid and combined together, they create this pretty daytime eye.

So, obviously, because I’m Chrissey….I couldn’t resist using the new products I picked up, right?

I used my new shadow quad, my new blush (just a little because I didn’t want to ruin the emblem before I took blog photos), the moisturizer, powder, a bit of mascara, and of course the classic red lipstick! I really gave these products a try and put them to the test… and they absolutely killed it (except the average mascara…it was just okay).

The result? A simple, classic, slightly vintage daytime look! It was perfect with my messy bun and skater dress for some light errands!

So, that’s what I picked up from Clinique! I’m excited to use my new products some more and to maybe discover some new favorites from the bunch! The blush is especially perfect for spring and the fact that I got a set for free made my purchase even better! And now that I know that Clinique makes really nice makeup I’m excited to try more of their makeup! I’m not very familiar with their makeup but their skincare has always been awesome!

  1. I love how you did your eyes – you’re so good at doing them! I love how you mention the eye shadow and then you actually test it out and show us how it looks on you. Sometimes, people just show the eye shadow, but nothing else, so that’s another huge reason I always come back to read your posts :)) Also, thanks for mentioning me about Snap ❤ I love your snap stories ❤

    1. Ahhh Jess you’re the sweetest! I’ve thought about doing an eye makeup tutorial but I don’t know.. I’ll have to think about it! And I’m glad you like it… it always makes sense for me to mention products and then demo/test them! I think it’s logical and it really shows the product. You are the nicest and thank you for the kind words!!!
