My Easy Makeup For Work

Something that I’ve been really into recently is fast, easy, simple makeup that can take me from pooped to professional in a matter of minutes.

I wake up every day at around 5:00 (okay… 5:15ish) because I drive to work (and get there at 7:00), so the shorter my makeup routine, the more sleep I can have! I currently stick to the basics when it comes to my makeup routine and have come up with a routine that is not only super fast but also pretty and refined at the same time.

You guys always ask me what makeup I’m wearing in my Instagram stories, so… here you go!

By the way, to show you all that lighting matters… check out the super low quality pic that’s on my staff profile now…

Anyways, let’s get started!

Face:

I apply my favorite foundation with a beauty blender dupe. I have been religiously using the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation since I discovered it. I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about this a million times on the blog before. It lasts all day, goes on smoothly, makes my face look perfectly filtered, and is amazing when it comes to being lightweight but build-able in coverage.

Brows:

I tried the Anastasia Brow Pomade a few weeks ago on an impromptu beach vacation and fell in love. My little sample is starting to dry up and I definitely need to get a full-size version. I always make sure that my brows are clean and naturally defined; they frame the face!

I also apply a little bit of Benefit’s Watt’s Up! under my eyebrows.

Eyes:

I lightly line my upper lash line and then apply mascara. I’ve been using the same lash serum/eyeliner combo from Physicians Formula and am absolutely in love. This liner pen does not budge or smudge…. and it makes my lashes grow!

I recently started using this mascara from Maybelline and it has honestly blown me away. I will admit that Maybelline has not been my favorite when it comes to makeup but they’ve really been stepping up their game! The Lash Sensational is one of my all-time favorite mascaras! It’s build-able and makes my lashes look awesome.

Cheeks:

I have been doing the same cheek combo forever. I use my favorite blush, the Clinique Cheek Pop in Berry Pop, and my favorite bronzer from Physician’s Formula. The blush brightens up my face and the bronzer gives my face a little warmth and natural definition.

Lips:

I am temporarily pausing my vendetta against Tarte because this lipstick is actually really great. I have been opting for more nude lip colors recently, and this cool nude pink shade from Tarte Cosmetics is my current favorite nude lipstick. I normally do a “my lips but better” type shade but this is quite possibly one of the few nudes that looks good on me!

I’ve learned to keep things simple and to accentuate the features that are necessary. In my case I accentuate my eyes and define my brows! They’re definitely the primary focus.

This routine has made getting ready super simple and it’s a pretty and speedy look that’ll having you looking polished and nice! It’s professional, chic and not at all difficult! It’s my go-to!

“No matter how different women are, we all seem to share the guilt that we’re not doing enough. If anything, I would say that as long as you’re doing your best, it’s more than enough.”

-Jessica Alba

What’s your speedy makeup routine? What products are your go-to for fast, simple makeup? Do you wear makeup to work?

  1. We have very similar taste when it comes to makeup. I am a big fan of estee lauder too but recently i tried Ultra wear foundation by Lancome and I love it even more than doublewear by Estee. The same with mascara, i love the one by maybelline but the new Paradise mascara by L’oreal is a life. Give it a try if you have a chance 🙂
