You Deserve Better

I was originally going to write a blog post about my haircut (we will discuss that on Thursday) but there’s something that I wanted to talk about. Something that I think I need to tell you guys.

Sometimes, I forget what I deserve and I discount myself. It happens. I think it happens to everyone, and in moments like these we need to take a moment to remember what we deserve. In love, career, life, and pretty much everything.

It’s so easy to settle and it’s so easy to discount yourself, but I promise you that if you do, you won’t be happy. I think about my career and the times I almost settled and I am so phenomenally happy that I didn’t.

Because my job isn’t something that happened because I was lucky. It’s something that happened because I worked incredibly hard, have the experience, and deserved it.

I think about relationships and how so many people settle. One of my biggest fears is settling and ending up with someone less than ideal. So many people are scared of ending up alone but I think it’s much scarier to end up with someone when you (or they) deserve better.

So take this as a reminder that you deserve more than you think. You deserve the world and more, and should never let anyone tell you less.

I think we’re conditioned to discount ourselves, but when you do so it just leads to unhappiness and dissatisfaction. It leads to regrets and insecurities. So don’t ever forget that you deserve the world. I promise, you really do.

“Make the most of what you have and keep your standards high. Never settle for anything less than you deserve or are capable of achieving.”

-Roy T. Bennett

Do you ever forget what you deserve or discount yourself? It happens!
